Who we are

Ember Korowai Takitini brings together more than 30 years of experience supporting people with mental distress, addiction challenges, and intellectual disability.

Formed through the merger of Connect Supporting Recovery Inc. and Framework Trust, Ember combines shared knowledge, resources, and influence to strengthen how support is delivered across the sector.

Our kaupapa reflects a commitment to innovative, person-centred approaches that respond to the realities of people’s lives.

Korowai Takitini, meaning the cloak of many parts, was gifted by kaumātua John Marsden and speaks to the wrap-around nature of our work. The name Ember reflects determination and hope, symbolising the belief that even when a flame burns low, it can be rekindled

Today, more than 300 kaimahi contribute to shaping our kaupapa and direction. This combination allows us to work across communities while staying grounded in a shared purpose and identity.
