Our Mission, Vision and Values
A word from Darryl – Ember Korowai Takitini Group Chief Executive
“It’s about who we are
At Ember, our values are not slogans. They reflect how we work together, how we support each other, and how we engage with the people and communities we serve. They shape daily behaviour and signal what matters to us as an organisation.
Our values are grounded in Māori concepts rather than single words.
Whakapono, Tino rangatiratanga, Kotahitanga, and Kia pono, kia tika speak to belief and conviction, self-determination and leadership, connection and kinship, and integrity. Together, they remind us to love what we do, believe in the potential of people, work together to achieve it, and keep it real.
These values sit alongside our
Vision for:
An Aotearoa where all people are supported to be who and what they want to be. A society that better understands and responds to mental distress, addiction and intellectual disability.
Our Mission is:
To support people to live the lives they choose, and we challenge the systems that hold them back.
Together, our values, vision, and mission guide how we work across the Group and how we continue to grow in the spirit of Ember.”
Nga mihi nui"
